Making a Positive Difference
Nash County Emergency Services is a dedicated group of professionals committed to making Nash County a safe place to live and work. This is accomplished through not only emergency response, but also through fire and accident prevention programs and public education.
Emergency Services consists of four divisions:
- 9-1-1 Communications - This division operates and maintains county-wide radio and enhanced 9-1-1 systems which provide coordinated law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to all Nash County residents. Each year, the division is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for over 40,000 requests for assistance, dispatching 29 public response agencies, and acting as the centralized point of coordination of all county emergency services.
- Emergency Management - Emergency Management plans, prepares and responds to major emergencies and disasters in Nash County. Emergency Management works with all emergency response agencies, governmental services and private industry to coordinate resources to respond to and to mitigate an emergency. Emergency Management assists groups with preparing emergency plans and actively educates the public on how to react to disasters
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) - EMS provides advance life support care, pre-hospital emergency care, and convalescent transport in a quick and efficient manner to the citizens of Nash County. Nash EMS also provides public education and awareness about child safety seats, bike safety, and public safety.
- Fire and Rescue Services - This division is responsible for the coordination of fire protection activities of the 15 fire departments located throughout Nash County. The Fire Marshal's Office assists the departments with training and equipment needs and responds to major incidents.
